Spring Aboard the SOLARIS Yacht with Specialty Dinner Cruises in Destin Florida

Weekly Spring Break Fireworks Dinner Cruises, Easter Lunch and Sandestin Wine Festival

There are many reasons to ‘spring’ aboard SunQuest Cruises SOLARIS Yacht in Destin, Florida. As the only dining and entertainment yacht in Destin Florida, the SOLARIS yacht’s weekly dinner cruises are a popular activity for families, couples and friends during the spring and summer seasons. In addition to the weekly public dinner cruises, there are many specialty dinner cruises scheduled to welcome a new season of fun and unforgettable memories.

“We are thrilled to add some specialty dinner cruises and signature events to our regular spring schedule,” stated James Murray, General Manager for SunQuest Cruises. “Our goal continues to be to offer every guest an unforgettable meal and experience on our beautiful local waters.”

Beginning March 21st, the SOLARIS will host a weekly Fireworks and Dancing Dinner Cruise every Tuesday night in Destin for the next three weeks from 6 – 9 p.m. The Solaris is a popular alternative to fine dining restaurants in Destin. The evening begins with cocktails from the full-service bar as the 125 foot yacht cruises the local waters with panoramic views. Guests will indulge in a three-course, chef prepared fine dining meal featuring prime steaks, fresh Gulf seafood and more. Live music can be heard from all three decks, including the open air sky deck. The night concludes with a bang as the sky above illuminates with fireworks from Sandestin’s Village of Baytowne Wharf.

SunQuest Cruises’s annual Easter Lunch Cruise in Destin has become a time honored tradition for families seeking a relaxing and memorable experience. The open air, sky deck becomes a popular starting point for pictures and to take in the amazing views and fresh air. The SOLARIS chefs freshly prepare the three-course meal aboard the yacht’s galley. This year’s menu includes Southern Shrimp and Grits, Blackened Bone-in Pork Chop, Petit Filet, Pasta Primavera and a special children’s menu. The Easter Lunch Cruise is from 1 – 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 16th.

The highly anticipated Sandestin Wine Festival kicks off just steps away on the SOLARIS yacht on Friday, April 21st from 12 – 3 p.m. This signature Champagne and Seafood Lunch Cruise begins with a dockside reception at noon. As the SOLARIS cruises the local waters, patrons will indulge in a culinary voyage of four decadent courses, all paired with premium champagnes. Menu highlights include a butter-poached Lobster Salad with a Chandon Brut and Coconut Sake Cocktail, Shrimp Ceviche with a French 75 cocktail, Jumbo Sea Scallops with Chandon Sweet Star Champagne and Blackened Red Fish paired with Cliquot Yellow Label Champagne.

Destin Weddings 2016 – Diane and Kevin

We’re ending the year with another amazing Destin destination wedding on the SOLARIS Yacht venue in Sandestin. Our wedding planners were thrilled to meet Diane and Kevin and help them plan their dream wedding on the SOLARIS yacht right before Christmas.

Here’s their touching story of how they met and their engagement as told by Diane:

We met using Match.com. I knew by his pictures because he had a beard, he was tall/dark/handsome, he had a brown dog, and he loved the outdoors, it definitely meant I needed to meet him.

Our first date was at the Bluegill Restaurant on the Causeway, and he wore a white button down shirt and blue jeans. I wore a blue floral sundress that he told me he really liked. The date went well where we became acquainted, and since I told him my first day of orientation at my new job was the next day, he said he’d get me home early.

After that, we had a second date in downtown Fairhope, where we stayed out late and met a bunch of his friends who also happened to be out and about. It then started with dinners at his house, where he liked to cook for me fish he had caught and vegetables he had grown. It progressed quickly to spending every evening together, where we came to the realization that we were more alike than we could have ever thought.

It quickly dawned on me that this was who I had needed all along and that I was in love.
We have enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling, and spending even the most mundane of days together. We are proud that together we have added fruiting trees to our yard and have nurtured a garden (pictured below) inspired by his late Grand Daddy.

In October after work one day, Kevin took me through our recently turned over garden that we had spent some of that weekend working on, telling me that we do such a great job working as partners. After walking slowly through the garden for some time admiring our hard work by flashlight, he took me between the house and garden and faced me. He told me how much he loves me and how happy he is. He told me that we make good partners and I agreed.

He continued by saying that much like a good marriage, working in the garden requires weeding, hard work, and working together. He then began to kneel, getting down on his knee, held my hands, and asked “…I was wondering, will you be my partner forever?”

Congrats again to Kevin and Diane – we can’t wait for the BIG day to celebrate your love for each other.
