As the area’s only dining and entertainment yacht, SunQuest Cruises’ SOLARIS is a romantic and unique alternative to restaurants in Destin Florida and unforgettable way to experience Destin and Sandestin year-round from the water. For the most unforgettable Valentine’s Day celebration, guests can dine, dance and cruise under the stars on the SOLARIS yacht on Saturday, February 11th from 5 – 8 p.m. or Tuesday, February 14th from 7 – 10 p.m. The romantic and memorable evening includes a three-hour cruise, three-course seated dinner and live entertainment.

“If you’re spending Valentine’s Day in Destin, you want to enjoy a romantic dinner overlooking the area’s natural beauty,” stated James Murray, General Manager for SunQuest Cruises. “We take waterfront dining and romance to the next level as you cruise on a luxurious yacht to enjoy unlimited, open water views, fresh seafood and steaks and dancing under the stars to live music.”

Guests will enjoy the elegant fusion of the luxurious yacht, ambiance, romance, staff and entertainment at this one-of-a-kind Valentine’s Day experience. Upon being greeted on-board by Captain Rick, guests are welcomed to start the evening with a cocktail from the full-service bar and take in the fresh air from the sky deck and panoramic views of Sandestin while cruising into the sunset. As everyone explores all three indoor and outdoor decks, the SOLARIS chefs are freshly preparing coastal cuisines on-board the yacht’s galley.

The three-course, chef-prepared culinary adventure begins with a Smoked Tomato and Basil Soup. Entrée choices include a Premium Seared Filet Mignon with Truffle Potato Mash, Fresh Seared Gulf Fish with Citrus Jumbo Lump Crab, Stuffed Pork Tenderloin Roulade, Gulf Shrimp & Grits and Spaghetti Squash & Vegetable Ragout. The meal concludes with a Chef’s Dessert Plate, specially prepared for couples to share.

The romantic celebration continues with live music that can be heard from all three indoor and outdoor decks. Couples can dance under the stars on the yacht’s sky deck overlooking Sandestin or enjoy the live music from inside the elegant dining spaces with panoramic windows.

The SOLARIS yacht is conveniently docked within the all-inclusive Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort which offers a variety of accommodations on-property for anyone seeking a romantic, worry-free night.

Anniversaries in Destin on the SOLARIS | Jim and Gail Murray

In the last 11 years, SunQuest Cruises has done over 1,500 Destin Fla weddings, 400 corporate events, birthdays and hundreds of other memorable events. This past weekend, the SunQuest Cruises family celebrated a great moment onboard the SOLARIS, the 50th wedding anniversary of the founders of the company, Jim and Gail Murray.

Gail and Jim were married in 1965. With his company Freeport Shipbuilding Inc, Jim Murray has been building boats since 1978 and had already constructed 66 yachts similar to the Solaris yacht. Together with their son James, the Murrays launched SunQuest Cruises in 2004. It took a family effort to get the company to where it is today. Gail remembers her daughters, sisters and mom folding napkins and spending holidays like New Year’s and Mother’s Day on the Solaris yacht. The Murrays also placed an importance in giving back to the community in which they live and work.

The family business has flourished over the years, featuring the region’s only dining and entertainment Solaris yacht, adding the SunVenture motor Catamaran for leisure dolphin and Crab Island cruises and offering off-site catering and beach weddings.

Congratulations on 50 amazing years and here’s to 50 more!
